Sarah and the Hospital...What week!

It's been quite a week around here. Sarah has been in the hospital, then out of the hospital and then back in the hospital. She's had croup. Only she could just have croup like a normal kid. Hers has not been responding to steroids or Epinephrine treatments. Yesterday they decided she was working WAY too hard to breathe so they kept her in the hospital and gave her a different steroid. The mega steroid.

She's home today. She still sounds kind of bad but nothing like she did. I'm alternating 15 minutes warm steam and then going outside. The trick is to go from warm and moist to cold. It really seems to help. She currently is back asleep. Hopefully catching up on some rest and healing up.

She was not happy about being hooked up to the machines yesterday. It certainly didn't bring back any good memories. Sitting in the hospital watching her heart rate and oxygen saturation on a monitor and listening to the beeping. Although this time it was tied to her foot and she was NOT HAPPY. She would get to the end of her rope and before we could get to her, she'd go down. It was like watching a puppy learn about the tie-out chain. Painful to watch.

So, I haven't gotten anything done all week. I'd tell you about my laundry but you'd be frightened. It's not pretty. And today, I'm throwing a load in when I can but it's mostly Elmo and the couch, then the steam room, then into the freezing garage. Repeat as needed.

Oh, and Sarah may have a touch of 'roid rage. Or she's just getting payback for her miserable week. Either way, she's not real happy with things in her life right now. She ran Minnie Mouse over with her play car and left her head under the wheels. It's disturbing.

She waking up so Elmo is calling.

Hoping for a nice calm weekend!
